Membership
Scholars, teachers, students and all lovers of mathematical sciences are welcome to join the Indian Society for History of Mathematics.
Membership Fees
Dues payable on the 1st of January each year.

Applications for membership may be made on the membership form or on plain paper giving full details including an e-mail address. All applications must be proposed and seconded by two existing members of the Society.
Types of Membership
Founder
Persons whose names appear in the Memorandum of Association as desirous of forming the Society are regarded as Founder Members. They pay membership dues as prescribed for ordinary or life members.
Ordinary
Any person interested in the objects of the Society and agreeing to abide by its constitution and byelaws is eligible for election as an ordinary member. (Currently not available for persons from SAARC countries — life membership only.)
Life
Any person eligible for election as an ordinary member is also eligible to apply for life membership, which confers permanent standing with all associated rights and privileges.
Honorary
Honorary membership is by invitation only. The Council may nominate distinguished persons of eminence for a period of two years, provided the total number of honorary members does not at any time exceed five.
Rights and Obligations
All members shall be entitled to:
- Receive communications about the activities of the Society
- Participate in annual conferences without paying sessional fees
- Have free access to the online issues of Gaṇita Bhāratī
- Stand for election as an office-bearer or member of the Council
Any member whose subscription is in arrears for two consecutive years shall cease to enjoy the rights and privileges of membership.
